Chicken does not agree with me
Wow, I tried some canned chicken today with a little mayo and mustard and it is sitting there like a ton of bricks! I am trying new foods one at a time and I will have to mark chicken off the list for a while. What other meats do you all have trouble with?

All meats gave me trouble. I was eventually able to eat very, very moist ground pork meatloaf. I don't care for me too much any longer. I will eat chicken, but that is about it. Maybe a few bites of pork. Beef is too hard on my pouch. My lifestyle/eating habits did a 180 after surgery. I think I'm much healthier and better for it. Chicken got stuck one too many times for my comfort. I'm very careful when I eat it...even at 29 months post op.

I mix my canned chicken ( or tuna) with dill rellish , 2 wedges laughing cow cheese , FAGE yogurt, mustard, and onions and eggs if I have them , I make it very moist and measure out 1/2 cup.
Did you have problems with fluids after surgery? I didn't at all , I don't even understand the sip, sip, sip thing , as drinking was never an issue , even in the hospital . I can barely tell I had surgery EXCEPT for the PAIN on the left side.
keep trying, eat slow
Best Wishes

Chicken still gets stuck every now and then if I'm not really careful about small bites and chewing. As for how it sits, I would wait about 2 weeks and try again. When you are that early out everything feels different every few weeks. In a little while when yogurt and other soft foods no longer make you feel full you'll be happy for some denser protien that sits a little harder. And as for beef, other than ground up I wasn't supposed to have any until 6 months post op, but haven't had any issues at all.

Had problems with meat when banded thus, am pleasantly surprised that I can eat it all with RNY.
It's in small quantities at this point.
