Has anyone lost so much hair that they needed to purchase a wig?  I have been losing alot of hair lately.  I am 4 1/2 months out, lost 95 lbs  and understand that this happens.  Before, I had a healthy head of thick hair, and daily I am losing it.  I have started on biotin, but I also understand that this may not help at all.  Any comments?

i dont know who is shedding more, me or my dog! my hair is falling out at an alarming rate. i used to wrap a hair accessory around my ponytail twice now its at least 3 times and it feel like a rat tail. i hate it and was told by my surgeon that there was not much i can do but pay attention to my nutrients and its a side effect of the surgery - not necessarily the rny. i bru**** well, use good shampoo and try not to stress it out with a flat iron too much and hope to hell it starts to come back soon! good luck to you as well!
Be well, and always - take care of you!

I have lost alot of hair.  Not so much that I needed a wig, but then I have light colored hair, if I had dark hair there might be a bigger contrast with my scalp showing through.  I have to use sunscreen spray to keep my scalp from getting sunburned.

I started losing large amounts of hair at 2 months, and I have just noticed the hair coming back in....it's about 3/4-1" long, so obviously it's been growing back for a while I just couldn't see it until it was this long.  So I was actively losing for 4 months, and it seems to have stopped coming out and making tumbleweeds all over the place!

I have been really strict keeping up my protein, and I take my vitamins.  The vitamins I take have some biotin in them, I have not been taking a separate supplement.

I bet your hair is growing back in right now, you just can't see it yet!

I lost a lot of hair but not so much that I went out and got a wig.  I had a little bald spot in the back, though.  I ended up getting it cut pretty short and that seemed to make it less noticeable.

The biotin might help but it might not.  Usually it falls out for a couple months, then starts growing back.

I lost a lot of hair during the process and cut my long hair short. Most of mine is grown back now and I am about 1 1/2 year out. I am facing another surgery and hoping it doesn't fall out again. It was a little dramatic for a while, but please be assured it comes back...it just sucks for a while! But skinny feels better!

I had a LOT of volume pre-op.

I lost perhaps half the volume. The only person that noticed was me

The bigger issue for me was when It started to grow back. Imagine half your hair is down to your bra line, and half your hair is a few inches long.... I looked like I was always touching something with static electricity, had a halo of short hair that was untameable. I chopped it short. It's only now back to the bra-line. I'm going to see if I can get it down to my waist, but that's a hard thing to do here in AZ when it's hot and long hair is HOT.

My hair is thin to begin with so I am concerned about how much more I will lose.  I wear a lot of rolled bandanas like a headband to hold my hair back so just think I will have to thicken it a bit to hide what more I lose.  I can't to anything about it, so I am trying not to stress too much over it.
