How much does a pouch hold?
It holds less that early out than it will hold later on.
Only losing four pounds one week has nothing to do with how much your pouch will hold. It has to do with normal patterns of weight loss. Some weeks you will lose more than others. Some weeks you will not lose any. That is just how it works. If that scares you, stay off the scale.

I think 4 on your 3rd week is magnificent! I lost 11, then 6, then 2 and it's been 2-3 lbs. every since. (with the exception of no loss last week!) BUT, I have learned to NOT freak out. I see so many people on here get freaked when there is 0-1 lb lost or even a slight gain. I think our bodies are really trying to figure what the heck we are doing to them. You are doing terrific! I have a hard time figuring out how much to eat, because I don't get "full" until it is too late. So, I try to guess around 1/2 cup. Good luck to you!!! Blessings.........

Early post-op, you don't put much in your pouch because it is swollen from the surgery. That usually heals 7-10 days. When you're advance to soft/pureed foods, most surgeons recommend 1/4 cup. Soups, yogurt, puddings are slider foods. Which means, they will slide out of your pouch quicker than denser foods like soft meats and lentils. You won't feel fullness due to cut nerves in your pouch, so that is why it's important to measure. Everyone's nerves heal at different times. Mine was mostly healed by 3 months.
You will advance at 3 months, 6 months and one year, to the volume that your surgeon recommends. Mine recommends 1/2, 3/4 and 1 cup. Every surgeon is different.
You are doing well with your weight loss. Due to rapid weight loss, most gbp have little to no weight loss by the 3-4 week. I am a slow loser and lost 12 lbs each month x3 (then less a month after). To lessen your frustration, you may want to weigh yourself weekly. A 'dry' weight is most accurate...which is done after you get up in morning and pee, but before eating/drinking.
