How long is awhile? I wouldn't mess around with that. Have you been able to increase your eating yet? Or are you still eating just a little bit?

It was since I went to hospital for fluids and xrays and the contrast is what made me go.. I called a nurse just now waiting for them to call me back... Even then I wasn't eating but drank the contrast and I went a few hours later, I'm eating the same as then but more protein shakes now.. when the Dr calls I'm gunna ask when that was... Cuz it feels like weeks ago.. or I might look back in the forums since I posted about my iv fluids that day..

I would make them be more concerned. It's your body & to me that's too long. How are you feeling?

If you have not had a bowel movement in almost 14 days, even if you are eating very little, that IS a reason to be concerned.  It might not be anything serious, but I am still surprised that the resident was nonchalant about it.  You might try stronger laxatives rather than more of the same.

When I had an issue, they had me get some magnesium citrate. You can get it at a pharmacy (no prescription is required) or at Walgreen's.  It is a liquid and is only like $3.  Doctors frequently use it for the pre-surgerry prep.
