OK.. Here goes... I have Lichen Schlerosus. I can't really explain it but it mostly affects women premenopausal and some men. It is a very itchy white spot located in the vagina and anus. It is an "auto Immune" disease I am told. At any rate, I have to apply a steroid cream weekly. And I might add it is very painful.. Look it up if you want more detail.. Has anyone else ever suffered from this condition and if so, did it get better after RNY surgery? I'm still embarrassed to ask...

I've never heard of it.  No need to be embarrassed, though.  Is it something that may go away in time or is it a permanent condition?

No one can answer that for me... But it is really embarrassing because the itch is so bad.. I don't understand auto immune diseases that well.

My dermatologist claims that it is a yeast infection, my girls have the same odor. She gave med some pills to take but.. My liver started acting up so bye bye pills. I can't believe it never occurred to me to use antiperspirant under my breasts!! Gonna give that a shot.
What a great idea for a thread Kelly!

Charlie- the yogurt and probiotics will fix the vaginosis. Make sure youre using the refrigerated probiotics. You can also put actual yogurt down there post period to help with bacteria balance.  Also, only use dove soap on your girl parts...anything with chemicals and fragrance in it can cause an imbalance in the bacteria.  Dont use any over the counter crap or creams.  My best friend did this and has never had a yeast infection or vaginosis flare up again.  Antibiotics are the WORST culprit.  Good luck!

Ok...what the hell do these belly button infections mean and how do I stop them??? Firstly it's irritating as hell because it itches, but then when you clean it, it burns. My skin gets all red and the stuff that emits from my belly button (I have an "innie") smells NASTY! I usually clean it out and rub the inside of my belly button down with peroxide then, weird as it sounds, stick a cotton ball in there to absorb the ooze.

But why does this happen? It has been happening more often lately but usually it's only every once in a while but still.

I was beginning to think we had lost you. I don't know but I have the same kind of issues. Sometimes I think it is because I don't get it dried out enough when I dry off. Here lately, I've been hitting it with the cool side of the hair dryer and it has eased up a bit. Only happens when the whether changes for me. I also take a cotton swab and dab it with peroxide and then put A&D ointment on it to keep the moisture away from it during the summer.
