Thanks to everyone.
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes this past weekend. My post was more of the exercise thread, but included the reason behind my ride.
The support and ecouragement of everyone here is one of the things thta helps me get through the distances I shoot for. I remember being a post op and reading the posts of a few people that were training for endurance events like Ironman or Half Ironman races. I would sit there and think "No in hell can I ever do that, I can't even run 5K".
Many events along this journey have lit that fire within me to try things I believed impossible at one point in m life. I have come to accept that I may never be fast, I may never win a race, but the only way I can fail is to never try. If I cross the start line I know I will cross the finish line which makes me victorious.
This past weekend we had a number of people from here do their first 5K
. I hope this will not be their last. I remember the sense of accomplishment of crossing that first finish line and how terrified I was crossing the start line 46 and a half minutes earlier. Yes for everyone that completed their first 5K in under 46 minutes you are better than I was
.
Keep you commitment to this lifestyle and enjoy the accomplishments you make and remember the only person you are racing is yourself and the 300lb person you used to be.
I will say I am disappointed that None has posted a Bathroom Self portrait in a couple weeks! Shame in you Kim S.
