Tackling head hunger
i am struggling very badly w/ head hunger. it is a constant thing in my life right now and i have gained alot of weight because of it. I need to tackle this thing head on but haven't figured out how. can you give me suggestions or resources to help? I think if i can overcome this, I can overcome anything. thanks!
When I get head hunger I try to find something else to do, like clean, go for a walk, or watch a movie. If that don't work then I eat a pickle or two (no cals or fat), or sugar free jello or popsicles. I know we aren't supposed to chew gum, but I do. It helps trick my mind into thinking I am chewing food. I also like sugar free mints.
It is so hard to deal with - I wrote a post on my blog HERE all about it awhile back. It is a constant battle and I have not found it to get easier - just gotta fight every time it happens. URGH !!

I fight this alot lately and feel like I am losing the battle, I have had to just stop having certain things in the house so I have no choice but to snack on the right things, I had Sugar free cupcakes in the house and finally threw them away because I could not stop thinking about them, sugar free is not calorie free, Hang in there.

I think as my head hunger returns my main weapon will have to be energy. Having it. Lots of it.
It takes massive mental energy, optimism, focus, & motivation to overcome head hunger aka food addiction.
A face-to-face support group would be good.
My therapist believes in visual reminders--sticky notes with affirmations, etc.--but I'm really good at not seeing things.
You're keeping harmful edibles out of your house--good job!
You've made me think about this. Thank you.
I believe I might give hypnotism another whirl.
Let's work hard at this!
