I asked this question at my support group and was told that it differs for everyone but that you will see some change in your cycle post op. One lady in my group had said she had a non stop cycle for 60 days!
Me personally, I had an IUD implanted about a year b4 surgery and my cycle got longer and heavier. Post op though it seems to be lighter and shorter.. go figure.

Oh goody, a post with Paul written all over it!!!!!

There are actually men on here that could give you perfectly good advice on this subject, to be honest, and your subject line will attract them like bees to honey LOL!!!!

Hormonal changes post surgery will cause your periods to be out of whack - it's perfectly normal and will settle down in time.

DANG!!! I actually did respond but I think I got moderated!

Doesn't take a lot of imagination to think what my response was.

This subject line makes me giggle every single time.

As the previous posters said, your hormones are gonna be all sorts of whacky for a while, it will definitely settle down soon though. Hang in there!

I had my surgery a month ago and I'm on my second cycle since surgery. I started in the hospital and had an extra heavy flow and appear to be doing the same this time. It is a little discussed fact that women of menstruating age often start their cycles after surgery. I'd imagine the hormonal fluctuations due to rapid weight loss will continue to cause fluctuations in flow and irregularities. Good luck! Hope yours goes away soon!

Since my surgery (March 13) I have had only about a week without any bleeding. It sucks. A lot. I started in the hospital and pretty much haven't stopped since. I had Mirena placed in January so I'm hoping once my body adjusts to the hormone dump that's going on right now with the rapid weight loss that the Mirena will do its thing and stop my periods.

Good luck!
