Leave it to me

 to develop an infection at the large surgical incision site!! Boy did that stink! Saw my Doctor today took the staples out there and basically made me pray to Jesus for my salvation from this pain!

I am home now and medicated, sipping, sipping, sipping. It was a small superficsical infection but I have never smelled that particulat horrid smell in 32 years of being a nurse!

 Awww, MAAAANNNNN! I had that happen too.. hopefully you will heal up nice and quic****ep on sipping and feel better soon.

 May the force be with you!  Ok, you have that behind you.  I was glued back together, no stitches.  Funny how every doctor does things.  Some people come home with drains some do not not.  Didn't have a drain either.  Take care!  Jane 

 Wow we are doing everything together lol, went to my Dr. today and i have a bad case of phlebitis, from my IV site. I thought that maybe i could just do warm compresses and it would go away but no... then she proceeds to tell me the only way to get rid of this is with NSAIDs, which of course we can not have ugh... So she gave me a shot of steroids and antibiotics, then a hard script for 10 days of antibiotics and then decided to give me a topical NSAID so it would not go through my stomach. She was totally lost. So lets hope everything works out. I will keep you in my prayers.  

Bridie, I hope you get to feeling better soon....... To the MaleNurse, I had a bad case of phlebitis myself in 2 different places  and was told there is really not much that can be done for it , the soreness is starting to go away and it is looking a bit better now.

 Yeah, but you went back to work today??? This crud that was in this incision when he took the staples out, it poured out. Really smelly nasty **** Worse than a pseudomonas smell. 

Well, you beat my back to work, when do you get to have full liquids?

Wow I am so sorry to hear about the nasty stuff but glad it was caught early! I am sure you will be rid of it quickly. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Yes I went back to work phlebitis and all, I figured I would go to work and then after work run to my Dr. have her look at it and then make my way home it worked out pretty good.

I went on full liquids Saturday, and now I can have real fruit juices just no pulp, lentil soup, cream soups, and mashed potatoes. Can't complain to much. When do you get to go on full liquids?
