3 Month Follow up
Went in today for my 3 month follow up. The PA said I'm doing really well in regards to my weight loss. She said they don't push a set number of pounds that should be lost by certain time frame, except that by a year I should be at 70% excess weight loss. My blood pressure was awesome today 102/70. She wants me to take my blood pressure once a week & if it consistently stays close to the 100 mark then they will take me off my blood pressure medication. Woohoo! I did ask if I could get my labs drawn earlier than 6 months, but she said it is not necessary as our bodies have up to a 6 month store & will start to deplete at around 6 months. I was ok with that. Just happy to be able to have the bypass surgery & am getting a better grip on my health. Its a good day for me. It's about time! Lol She also said my goal weight should be anywhere between 165-170 & not 145. I think I would look sick at 145 to be honest.
First i would like to say WOW GOOD JOB SWEETIE
and second theres NOTHING wrong with setting a goal. But you should set them in small goals. say 170 then once you get there set a new one for 155, then once you have over come that set it lower? according to my nut/nurse pract/surgeon (they all said this to me) you tend to have more success that way!!! but again its your surgery your body and i think your doing fantastic!!!
(forgive my spelling)

Thanks! I also set mini weight loss goals for myself, usually in 25 lb increments. My next goal is 250 lbs which is like any day now, then it will be 225 lbs. I'm not overly concerned about how much I lose all together, just want to have a better lifestyle with better overall health & better eating habits. I honestly don't think I would of ever been able to do this without this tool. So I am grateful to even of had the opportunity to have the surgery at all.
