Do they make Protein Pills?

I'm REALLY struggling with the protein drinks...seriously the smell and taste that I could tolerate pre- surgery now bring me to the point of nausea (and sometimes actually throwing up) .

I have tried just about all of them...even the isopure waters (which I can 'somewhat' handle but only if ice cold and well, the fact they are $4 a piece.

I am in Stage II, but having a hard time with some foods...esp eggs :( and cheese :(.

I need to find a way to get at least SOME protein.

I'm actually stunned I have not landed back in the hospital as I barely get enough fluids in me too :(

They do, but they only have one gram of protein per chewable tablet.  I imagine you'd have a hard time getting enough in to matter, plus that would be pretty expensive.

I had the same problem.    I can tolerate Pure Protein protein powder.  Helps when i add some instant coffee or sugar free pudding.  Keep trying, don't give up, and keep sippimg fluids.

Soft foods with lots of protein

Greek yogurt (get plain and sweeten it yourself)
Cottage cheese
Tuna
Soft tofu

Keep trying. It takes a while but you'll get there.

Ditto Nik's suggestions, plus add  a tablespoon of Unjury unflavored protein powder to each. It's undetectable and will give you an extra few grams of protein per meal.

Also, have you tried doctoring the protein shakes?  I can't tolerate any of them straight, but do fine by adding 1/2  to 1 cup of frozen fruit (pineapple, peaches, strawberries, etc.) and 1/2 packet of an appropriate Crystal Light to go plus about 3 oz. of water and 4-5 ice cubes.  Zap it in a blender and it's  fruit slushy.   It's the "malty" and milky smell and taste of the protein shakes I don't like and this disguises it well.

try syntax nectar from the vitamin shoppe.com... (free shipping)....  much, much better than those thick malty protein drinks.. I have been mixing up two scoops of nectar, got lemon and strawberry kiwi to a quart of water each morning and just using that mixture with cranberry juice (diet) or crystal light flavors throughout the day in my tervis tumbler.

Sorry you are struggling, I understand I was never able to tolerate the protein shakes either. I ate cans of chicken sometimes for breakfast. But I did try about every shake on earth and the only ones that I liked are the EAS light they have 17 gram protein about 110 cal the vanilla is my fav they sell them pre made at walmart they are about 4.99 for a 4 pack.

as for the fluids flavor them up and keep them cold and at your side all the time. Get yourself a nice mug or bottle, the crystal light appletini is good! like liquid jolly rancher.

Hope you feel better

I had to get protein powders sweetened with Stevia and not the other artificial flavors they worked much better for me. I still cannot stand the ones sweetened with splenda, sucralose etc. 5 months out they still make me ill.  It does get better as time goes on.  Just hang in there and focus on getting your liquids in as much as possible

Thanks everyone....I have to call and see if I can blend fruit yet...I am on what OSU has Stage III...no fresh fruit or veggies yet.

I'm hoping to find some meat I can tolerate other than a few bites of shredded turkey!
