i need the truth about carbonation

there is actually a good deal of research indicating that caffeine does not lead to dehydration, at least not in most instances. If someone is unaccustomed to drinking caffeine and suddenly consumes a very large amount, it might be an issue for them, but even then, if they drink normally, it most likely won't be a problem.

Drinking carbonation will not cause your pouch to stretch but it can cause gas cramps and digestive distress if your pouch is sensitive. I do not drink cola flavors too often because the phosphoric acid interferes with calcium absorption.
I have been drinking 2-12 ounce cans of Diet Mountain Dew a day since 20 months post-op with no problem. I also drink 64 ounces of water a day with a sugar free drink mix.
I do not drink liquids with meals. I drink liquids up to the time I eat a meal and wait for 1 hour after eating a meal to resume drinking.
