Does anyone eat even though they are not hungry?  This is really one of my old habits I need to get a hold of...

Oh gosh yes!  My first thought when I read this was, are there really people out there that only eat when they are hungry and never any other times?  LOL

What I try to do is ask myself what I really want or need.  Like, if I am bored, I could eat something, but there are probably other things I could do that would be more interesting or fun than eating crackers.  Although I do love crackers.  If I am lonely, yeah, ice cream might help a little, but hanging out with a good friend would probably help more.

I do eat, even if I'm not hungry, to make sure I get in all of my protein.  Otherwise, I could
easily slip back into the habit of not eating all day and gorging at night.

However, if you are referring to "head hunger"....I had that really bad last night, so I ate
a SF popsicle and crashed out.  I can't eat if I'm sleeping!!

I think we have all been there.  I try to also keep busy drink water with ice or Crystal light. it is not easy but it can be done.

Thank you...this is really a whole knew learning experience and it is great to know that we are all the same.  In the end I just hope I can reach my goal and lose my old habits that made me fat in the first place...lot of work to do but I guess nothing comes easy....the best thing is knowing others are in the same boat...thanks again

I'm really struggling trying to figure out what to eat.  I think I'm going to have to buy a food processor because the Blender my hubs bought is nice for the protein shakes but the chicken doesn't puree it enough.  Maybe I should puree with all the juice in there....so today I ate some soup at 11am and didn't eat again until 5pm...so I was hungry.  I felt weak....I can't do that anymore.  I've tolerated the refried beans but was suggested to me at a local support group that maybe I should back off and go back to more liquid type foods.  I'm not really having problems but that is what their doctor suggested to them - liquids for the first 6 weeks.  My doctor though says I can pureed/soft foods for weeks 2,3,4.  I go to the nutritionist at week 6 and can introduce more solid foods a little at the time.  That seems a long way off and not doable at the moment.   I'm only drinking room tempature water for now also.  Cold water doesn't go through well (have a little pain) and was told that's normal.  None of these are huge problems, but I want to make sure I'm doing all the right things and eating the amount I'm supposed too.  Sometimes I do feel like I eat too much.  However, I have not had any nauseau or vomiting.  Thankfully!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I would eat a protein bar in between 11 and 5.  That's too long a period to go without eating anything.

When I was doing well, I would have green tea when the head hunger hit. The warmth was comforting.  Hmmmm, I think I'll go make one right now
