fruits and veggies.

Lately I have been really craving fruits and veggies.  I've always liked fruits and veggies, although I would usually go for more starchy things like bread or crackers first if they were available.  But I've been trying to cut out the starchy things lately and then I started craving fruits and veggies, so I've been eating tons of them.  I'm still getting enough protein but I am amazed at how much produce I have consumed in the last three days.

I have eaten:

approximately two cups of strawberries
approximately two cups of raspberries
approximately one cup of blue berries
two yellow bell peppers
two red bell peppers
a couple bites of a peach
several bites of yellow squash and zucchini

With all this produce, I've had Greek yogurt, cheese, hummus and protein shakes for protein.

I feel so much better without the starchy stuff.  I have more energy and and I'm not hungry all the time and I don't feel bloated and sluggish anymore.

Awesome!  I have been craving fruits and veggies since surgery, I figured my body was trying to tell me something.  I can put away a fair amount of salad too!  I am in LOVE with Wendy's berry chicken salad.

I'm trying to banish crackers from my diet too, as I like them and can't have just a few... but check this out. I've been cuttings pears and granny smith apples into super-thin slices and putting cheese on them (blue cheese or swiss) and use the pears and apples like crackers. So yummy.

I love fruits and veggies too. My family gets sick of me adding veggies to every dish I make, including if I am heating up some soup from a can I throw some peas in it. Fruits, OMG the closer to picking season comes the more I start salavating. Peaches, OMG they are like crack rocks to me.

I throw veggies in things too, including soup.  It's a good way to use up leftover veggies.

I make a soup that my family calls Stoup a cross between stew and soup. It is a soup recipe but it is filled with chunks of marinated beef, and so many veggies that when you bring up your spoon you really have to look for the soup part. Ohh see what you've done now I want to go make it..

I live near Loma Linda Ca. and they have a market called Clark's.  All their stuff is for vegetarians because Loma Linda is a now meat zone because they are 7th Day Adventist. Their stuff is wonderful and I too Kelly am on on a veggie and fruit kick now that I am good to go.  Since I am in California so many fruits and veggies come from local farmers, but not all.  Enjoy!  Jane

I too have been wanting veggies! Especially a tomato and cucumber salad mixed with oil and vinegar. But I believe I am not supposed to have fruit and veggies at this stage. Looking forward to when I can :)
