OT - I'm planning to try some melatonin tonight
I've also struggled with insomnia; I work 50+ hours/week and have two small kids. The fatigue is ridiculous, and it really feels hopeless at times. I read several months ago that light from artificial screens (TVs, computers, etc) can actually keep you awake before bed. I now believe it. One of the best things that I've done recently is to just go to bed -- read a traditional print book if I'm desperate and not immediately falling asleep, but to definitely stay off of the computer, not play scrabble on my phone, and not turn on the TV. Maybe its some sort of placebo effect, but it seems to be helping. I hope you find some relief soon, from the melatonin or something else.
i still play on my phone at night, but my roommate moved out 2 weeks ago so i moved my tv into the living room so i would actually go out there and not just hang out in my room all the time and waste the rest of the apartment, and i'm definitely sleeping better without nick at night playing all night
I just picked some melatonin on Saturday. I have so much going on right now, that I can't seem to settle down to sleep.
I was planning to try it last night, but got bust doing something, and didn't go to bet until midnight. I have to get up at 5 am, and was concerned that I would have trouble fully waking up after only 5 hours... So, I went to bes at midnight, fell asleep some time after 1:30 and was up at 5:00. So, I'm working on about 3 1/2 hours sleep. Tonight, I plan to be in bed by 9:30, and I'm going to try the melatonin. I'm hoping to get a full night's sleep, because when the week starts out like this,it generally only gets worse.
Kelly ... I would love to hear about your experience with it.
