OT- update on my kitty
We went to the vet this afternoon. The vet said the lump could be her cancer returning, of course, but that he actually thinks that's not super likely since she's been in remission for almost two years. He said he suspects it may be a different kind of tumor, something called a mixed mammary tumor, and said that those can usually be completely removed and that's usually al the treatment that is needed. So she is having surgery Friday to remove the mass, and then it will be... um, what's the word? Tested to see what it is.
In the meantime, she will be getting lots of attention, lots of treats, lots of brushing (she has long hair and loves to be brushed) and more cuddling than she probably wants.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I'll be praying for the pathology to show mixed mammary tumor, Kelly. My kitty, Olivia, had 2 of them removed several years ago and it has not come back. She is 17 yrs now, really showing her age these days, and I cherish each day I have with her. I have other younger cats but Olivia and I have been through a very lot together over the years and she is the most spoiled of all.

I hope the biopsy is clear and everything is fine with her. Best of luck and a speedy recovery to the little one!

biopsied!
I hope she recuperates well. When I used to raise mice, mammary tumors were common and generally not fatal, and in fact they do a lot of breast cancer studies on mice since it is so prevalent. Generally (not for the squeamish) when one of my mice developed tumors, they became a snakey snack.
All our cats are cuddlers, they require people attention. And the new kitten is curled up next to me with obvious plans to be a cuddle kitty too.
