poll re: protein and labs
Low BP may indicate low endocrine hormones levels. Including thyroid, cortisone, etc. My BP at times used to be 90/60-65. I did not like that. Now I am able to keep it at 100-110/65-70.

Can you explain the relationship between the total protein count and albumin? Should I not be too worried if my albumin number is within range?

I just did some looking around online, and apparently low total protein levels can indicate liver or kidney problems. Check this out: labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/tp/tab/test At this point, I'm thinking I would not be worried about increasing your protein intake if your albumin level is OK. I would be worried about what else might be going on. Did any of your other labs suggest possible liver or kidney issues? I'd give your doc a call in the morning and ask about this. I'm sorry I didn't suggest this to you when you posted about it previously, but I wasn't aware of it.
Did they check your prealbumin as well? That's something else that, if it's OK, suggests you are getting enough protein.
