Getting ready

Okay,
Well I have my date : July 24th at dark thirty AM
I have my pre op apt with my Dr
I have watched my online emmi video stuff.
I have bought several kinds of soups to have on hand for my presurgery diet. I have a two week liquid that will start on July 10th.
I have a thing of protien poweder-unflavored so I can add it to stuff
I bought a ninja mixer with four travel cups to mix up/ blend up/shake up my life
I bought little tiny cups to keep premeasured foods in for me for when I am out and about the first few weeks.
I bought a small food scale since I have no idea what 2 oz of chicked actually looks like!
Soooo, am I missing anything that would be helpful to me? I am going through this with a very helpful, encouraging and loving husband, a few good friends..but no one that can tell me what I am doing/not doing right!!
Any sugestions on what to stock up on, try, avoid, expect would be great. I am getting to that nervous...overwhelming..what am I doing? part of the process.

Don't stock up on much. You don't know what things will taste good to you after surgery.
What about some flavored protein powders? Or what are you planning to use to make protein drinks after surgery? You can use unflavored protein powder but what are you going to use to flavor it?
Don't forget your vitamins.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I'm on the 29th and I have that same "OMG what am I doing?" feeling. You are not alone.
I'm amazed at how everyone's pre-op experience differs (different pre-op diets, length of diets, etc.).
You'll do beautifully and we'll have to take it a day at a time I guess. Be as prepared as we can and take it from there.
Good luck to you!!

Well, pretty much what I have stocked up on is for my pre op diet. I have to have two weeks of liquids. I have read in my pre op binder from the Dr office that baby spoons and forks work well in controling the size bites you eat. I might have to look into one of two. I also bought a pre measured water cup so I can keep track of how much water I have left to drink!
I know all this sounds much easier than it's going to be, so I am just trying to be as prepared as I can so it won't be as diffacault.
