I found out yesterday my date and time I have to be at the docs for my gallbladder to be removed. July 2nd at 10am. I'm happy it is coming out because the pain...well is a pain lol. Last week I thought it did because I had no pain no nothing. Then out of the blue again lol. I'm happy about it and the time off work. I haven't really got time off more then 2 days since...wow in 2010 lol. Much needed. :) I hope it all goes well. It's werid I have gain 6 pounds since this all started. My nut thinks I'm holding water. Lets hope so.

Good luck with your surgery. I had mine out on Friday . I'm feeling pretty good now. But, I have lost nine pounds since last Saturday morning. I thought it might be a little easier to eat after I got that little bugger out, nope . Oh well :) hope you are feeling tip top very soon.

Bye Bye gall bladders!  Had mine out with my RNY so I can't tell you about discomfort cause I was feeling like hell all over.  I had one stone in my gall bladder and I guess that's enough to validate removal because of what happens with quick weight loss.  I feel for any of you with gall bladder pain.  My mom was so sick and the pain omg and after it was removed she was great.  Had surgery @ 8 a.m. left hospital at 12:00 p.m. and she was 78!   Take Care!   Jane in California

I was suppose to have mine out during my rny. But my stones didn't hold up til then. Oh well, just another bump in the road. lol. I'm glad your mom feels better. How did your rny go?

I have known a lot of people who suffer galllbladder pains for months, even years before they could have theirs out. I have deep deep sympathy for anyone who suffers GB attacks day, after day, after day for days, weeks, months or even years. My GB issues lasted all of 12 hours. At ten PM one day (pre WLS) I began to have a little aching between my right shoulder blade and my spine. My boyfriend tried to massage it, but it hurt worse and worse and worse. He gave me an alka seltzer in case it was just a sour stomach (first and only time I've taken alka seltzer).

By midnight the pain was all up and down my spine, to the right, from the point of my shoulder blade down to my diaphragm, radiating around my entire body at the diaghram with an emphasis to the right.

Boyfriend said, "Want to go to teh ER?" And I agreed. By 1 am I was admitted. My white blood cell count was through the roof, and ultrasound demonstrated that the infection was an inflamed and stone filled GB fixin to explode. By 10 am I was under the knife, and they were removing my GB laproscopically. Next day they did another procedure because I had complications. I was in the hospital three days (not typical) and until I had my tailbone removed, it was the most painful surgery I've ever had (and the first)

Of course, boyfriend was worried about me, if my GB had exploded I might have died. He realized that he didn't want to do without me, so as soon as I was on my feet again, he proposed. We just celebrated our 11th anniversary.
