WLS has extended my life, allowing me to enjoy our granddaughters and sons, continue with art, and discover new interests. I feel like 30 yr old (again) without the worries of paying for our kids college education.
Having said that...I do not encourage anyone else to do it, especially young people. I hope and think that research will discover new and better ways to treat obesity. If asked I tell people to try exercise, better nutrition, counseling, anything to lose weight before having your stomach reduced and drastically revised.

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts good and bad.
I might would have a different type surgery (sleeve vs RNY) but would still have WLS. WLS has changed my life and I never want to be the way I was before WLS - not physically or mentally.
