daily vitamin check in
It just occurred to me that I took my regular vitamins with breakfast - multi, calcium citrate, D3, zinc - but forgot to take any the rest of the day! Oops! Well, I plan to be up quite a bit tonight with a sick kitty, so I should be able to at least get one more dose of calcium in plus my iron and C.

Of course, this was following a hideous cramping of my three middle toes on my right foot. Those three toes curled all the way in, then the cramp traveled up my calf and to my hamstring. Hubby was massaging it to try to alleviate the cramp, and I was crawling out of my skin with pain, trying to relax into hubby's soothing ministration while simultanously looking up what might cause it. (Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin D).... so I had everything but Potassium, and wakling to the kitchen to get my vitamisn helped work some of the kinks out but it worried me.
durn weird stuff!
But I'm getting better at supplementing (your posts do it for me most days if I haven't remembered before)
I wonder if cramps on only one sidde (two days in a row) is a sign of vitamin deficiency, or would I have bilateral cramping. if that was the case? Strangely enough, yesterday I was on my feet the most of all my days teaching summer school (and had cramp yesterday) and then today I was sitting most of the day (giving finals) so one day it might have been overuse, but today? Underuse? Oh, and my liquids for the day are at approximately 150 oz, I was well over 100 oz by the time I had the cramping.

I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!
My mother gets cramps in her toes like that kind of often. Her blood work is all OK except her D is low but she's been taking D3 so that should be better now. Hers are so bad she cannot uncurl her toes with her hands, no matter how hard she pulls them. Or tries to pull them.
My grandmother always said the best thing to do with cramps like that in your feet or legs was to stand up on them and put your weight on them. Which I think hurts but I guess it does help after a minute or two. But that only works if you can make your toes uncurl enough to stand up. Don't put all your weight on your toes if they are turned under like that.
