Got yours in?

I still need one dose of calcium plus my iron and C and I doubt I'm gonna get to that last dose of calcium unless I stay up really late.  Which I might do because I might be checking on my kitty now that she's home, but I kind of need to get some sleep tonight because I have to get up early in the morning because someone's coming to fix a problem with our internet and of course has to come at 8 am.

Again I'm so confused about the whole vitamin thing.  I don't understand the timeline It was never explained to me. I was just told to take them. I thought we just took them in the am and was done with it.

Taking them all at once doesn't work.  We can only absorb about 500 mg calcium citrate at a time but we need 1500-2000 mg daily.  So we need to take it three or four times a day.  Each does should be at least two hours apart.

We also need to take iron but that needs to be taken at least two hours away from calcium because calcium blocks the absorption of iron.

Plus, I gotta say, there is no way I could take all my vitamins at one time.  That would be too many pills to choke down at once.  Let's see, two multis, six calciums, D3, zinc, three iron pills, and vitamin C - 14 pills.  Plus my prescription meds.  Ugh.

What most people do with their vitamins is something like this:

Breakfast - multi, calcium, D3, B12

Lunch - calcium

Dinner - multi, calcium

Bedtime - iron, C

Thank you.  That helps explain it to me so I can understand.  I don't recall the Dr. talking about D3

Thank you. That explains so much to me.  I don't recall being told anything about D3 before.

how much iron do you take?

I take 75 mg daily.  The ASMBS recommends 54-63 mg daily for menstruating women and 36 mg daily for everyone else, but many people seem to need more than that.
