there goes my vacation....
I was hoping Cayenne would be better in time for me to go on vacation. And she is doing better but there's no way to know for sure that she won't start to have problems again. Plus, she is now on insulin twice a day, plus two different pills a day. I don't see any way I can leave her now. If I am 15 hours away and she starts getting sicker again, there will be no way for me to get home quickly. And my partner would be here with her, but I'm kind of worried he wouldn't remember to do her insulin twice a day, plus he has trouble giving her pills by himself - it's a two-person job for him, but I can do it alone. And he is starting a new job next week and if she got sick and had to go back to the vet, it would be really hard for him to take off work to take her - he promised me he would if necessary, but I know that's not a good thing to do the first week at a new job. And if something happened to her while I was gone....
I was looking forward to this trip. But the potential for regret is too great. So I guess I'm staying home.
I spent a lot of time last week making this car bingo game for us to play with my seven year old nephew on the drive. I'm disappointed we won't get to play it. Maybe I can mail it to my sister, express mail or something, so it would get there by the end of the week.

I doubt this trip will be happening next year. The only reason it's happening this year is because she got some unexpected money.
But there will be other trips, some other time. There will not be another Cayenne.
