Avocado and Ovaltine

Ok ok ok... not together! Gross!

I'm wondering about avocado and the WLS diet. My Dr said veggies are good... ppl tell me avocado is good fat... so what do you think? YAY or nay? Pinterest has me craving them!

Also, I'm doing good with chocolate cravings. The 60 cal sf mousse by Jello really tastes yummy. I'm very satisfied with that. NSA ice cream makes my yummy uneasy... I find myself wanting chocolate milk, though. I tasted the Calorie Countdown one... kinda yucky. I'm really ok with alternatives. I swallowed that pill when I decided on surgery. So how about 8oz of Ovaltine? Anyone partake? I know its yummy, but is it a "no-no?" Anyone have a choc milk alternative to share? Hot cocoa, I can make on the stove with Splenda... but I want a nice cold glass of choc milk.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what your program says about those things.  I enjoy avocado in moderation.  The other day we went to Red Robin and I had some chicken dish with salsa and guacamole on it.  Yummy.  When I am craving chocolate milk I try to have a protein shake.  Not the greatest but there are some brands that are pretty good.  I like to add some sf chocolate pudding mix and some ice cubes and mix it up in the blender and have a shake.  Do they have sugar free Ovaltine?
BTW, I think avocado is a fruit if I'm not mistaken.

"Avocado and Ovaltine" Whew, I was worried you had come up with a recipe for the two together. LOL! Ewww.

Love avocado in moderation. I think you can use sugar free cocoa mix in cold milk *shrug*.

Premier protein shake in chocolate taste like chocolate milk to me. 30 g protein and 1g sugar and only 160 calories!!

I would check the carb/sugar count on the ovaltine. I would say skip it and do a chocolate protein shake instead. Personally, I avoid drinking my calories unless I need to after a big (like 2 hour) workout. As for avocado, I love it but moderation is important since I tend to overeat especially since when I eat it with protein it makes everything turn into a slider food and I can really have portion control issues. As far as the "veggies are good" comment I would say that it's true but there are about 275 cals in a cup of avocado and only about 60 in the same amount of broccoli. So, you have to think about that but enjoy the foods you eat and again, focus on moderation and healthy choices.

I love avocado...but as the others said in moderation. I used to make a 4 avocado worth of guacamole and eat it all by the end of the day with chips....OMG!!!! now a couple tablespoons and im done. It is healthy fat but its still fat and calories LOL. Not sure on the ovaltine as Ive near had it. I usually have a piece of chocolate every few days as a treat.

Avocado.... good

Avocado mixed with ovaltine .... I'd rather starve

I don't know the stats on an Ovaltine so I can't answer that one for you.

I make no-sugar-added hot cocoa in the winter month (it's Arizona, it's cold in January.)

Actually, it's probably not that bad together. I've had smoothies with avocado and cocoa and it's quite yummy.

Now that said, I've never had ovaltine, but if I recall, it's a chocolate beverage mix.

I crave avocados also and eat one about once every week or so.  It's good fat and we do need some fat.  You'll be limited in quantity I say go for it.

As for Ovaltine, it's high in sugar if I recall I'd suggest a chocolate protein shake or getting Sugar Free Hersey chocolate syrup.
