Old Timer just stopping in to say HELLO

It's been so long since I have been to this board ...but yet it seems like yesterday I was pre op with a milliion and one ??'s now 6 yrs out way below goal with a revison to stop the weight loss I am doing great . just wanted to see if any of my pre op friends were still here Dr Simon in AZ did my RNY in 0/7 and he dropped out of sight and I was able to get my revison done by Higa in CA ...hope everyone is doing great ...if your just starting your weight loss journey enjoy it's one day at a time...or as my grand daughter reminds me ONE BITE at a time...

Hi welcome back. Can I ask what they revised to in order to stop the weight loss?

my start wt was 301 that was on 3/30/07 I hit goal in 6 mo's my goal was 135 I had some tiny issues in Jan 2012 I got really sick kept nothing down thinking possible stricture I made an appt with Dr Higa here where I now live the weekend before I got in to see hm I was taken to the ER  several tests were run CT and MRI lots of blood work my weight on Jan 30,2012 was 104 I was told I was a failure that there was something wrong the Dr took  me into surgery at 1040 pm and I woke up in ICU at 0249 there were issues with my orginal RNY the tiny ring he put around my stoma had eroded there were a few leaks I also had a bowel obstrution ...on June 24 ,I2012 I was in pain they went in and they were worried that my liver was blocked OH it sure was it was being taken over by adhesions so he went in and cleaned that up...I am now back to 135 my goal weight ...able to eat Oh yea before revison I had to take 2 vicodin so that I could eat pain free...my orginal Dr made some mistakes..guess thats why he is out of bussiness...

Sorry to hear you had so many problems. Keep coming back, we need more veterans on this board.
