Wigs
I think it's time for me to buy one or two. :( Too much thinning on the top of my head, it's like wherever I part my hair, it's a HUGE part, you know what I mean? It shows up so much because my hair is dark and my skin is so light.
If anyone knows where to order a good wig, please let me know.

I've not yet fully embraced lace fronts. I do half-wigs. One of these days when I stop grieving and put my pic back on my avie you'll see but if you look in my albums...none of that is my real hair. I have alopecia areata and have for years before surgery (there's a pic in my OH albums of what my scalp looks like as a result).
To me it's a chance to continually reinvent myself.

I have given up wishing my old hair back. My doctor told me frankly if they'd ok stem cell research they'd be able to regrow and implant hair follicles. Maybe in another life.
My wig changes don't elicit that much notice. The occasional compliment but not much more.
My big thing is with men. I've had several boyfriends and (CENSORED) hook-ups since surgery. My worry is never about the excess skin, but of my wig coming off.

I'm mostly Irish, so very light skinned. I was looking at wigs.com but I don't know if that's a good idea to order a 200 something dollar wig without even getting to try it on first. Can you just send them back if they don't fit or if they look wrong? Do you have to keep your hair really really short underneath a wig?
Even though I knew this would happen.. it's still heartbreaking. My biggest fear is that it won't grow back to it's original thickness.

But aside from that, I would not jump straight into an expensive wig. Go to a beauty supply store that sells wigs. You can try a few cheaper ones to get an idea of what style you like and how they attach. Then decide if you want to make that investment.
You could also see your hair stylist about putting a fall in your hair. Most celebs do it. The average celebrity you see out there (white or black) it's not all their real hair. Not by a LONG shot.
