Today I was scoped and do you know what they found? Nothing. I was so disappointed. Im still having pretty bad pains so she put me on 3 ducolax, twice a day to empty my colon.....that seems to be a bit much for a gastric bypass patient especially since ive had diarrhea for 5 days. I really dont know what could be left in there. She also put me on a clear liquid diet for 24 hrs. My surgeon is on vacation until august 7th so i guess im stuck with the pain till then.

I'm confused - did they do an endoscopy or a colonoscopy?

If they don't find anything wrong with you physiologically, please ask them to refer you for therapy,   If you are having problems eating and pain etc, you really need to get to the bottom of it - it may well be psychological for you to be having all these issues this far out ...

I'm glad they didn't find anything wrong but I understand that this is not what you were hoping to hear.

Sometimes when you have diarrhea it is because you are impacted "backed up".  The liquid (or diarrhea) is the only thing that makes it past the impaction in your bowel.  With the fasting and taking laxatives prescribed by your doctor, they are trying to make SURE you don't just need cleaned out.  Laxatives work alot better on an empty stomach.  Hope things get better for you.

Also, I read your first post but forget what you've had done previously.  If you haven't already had a CT scan.....and your pain continues......I would have them do some exploratory surgery to maybe see what the problem is.  Take Care.

Believe it or not, some of the anti-depressants will take away stomach pain.  I am a nurse and was working at a facility with a guy complaining of abdominal pain (very sincerely, not eating etc.) and after multiple negative tests they prescribed celexa and it went away.

The brain is a complicated thing (see phantom limb pain) and so is the body - brain connection. You've been rewired/re-plumbed,  but may have had an atypical response, so remain open to possible solutions.

I also take Tylenol 325 or a quarter of a percocet when needed (ie that is a daily dose I just described) and it really helps.

Im convinced something is wrong with my gallbladder because the pain is under my rib cage on the right. The pain used to come amd go but now its constant. When its really bad the pain moves across my stomach sometimes radiating to my shoulder and back. Im taking the laxative but that doesmt sound like an impacted colon to me and ive had this now over a year off and on....now its just on

"radiating to shoulder and back"

Definitely sounds like the gall bladder to me, too.

I haven't had the problem myself, but other family members have, and they all describe that sensation the same way.  A sonogram should be able to clarify it.

Good luck.
