Reminder about calcium

Kelly, I have the UpCal right now and I'm finding that a lot of it gets left in my water bottle, even if I shake it between each sip. Do you find it mixes better with anything in particular?

I usually put it in a protein shake.  I think a thicker liquid suspends it better or something.

You can also put it in something like yogurt or applesauce.

I do put it in my oatmeal or yogurt but that is the only thing I am currently eating that is soft each day. I guess I'll try adding it to a protein shake since I really need to add one back in to my routine. I've been slacking on my protein. ugh.

I was just told to take it on an empty stomach and to wait an hour to eat, no one ever said I couldn't take my vitamins with it too.
I called the pharmacist and sure enough, I'm supposed to wait 4 hours to take my calcium. He said calcium carbonate shouldn't be taken at all when on synthroid and I told him I don't take that kind anyway.
I did my 6 week blood test and have an appt with the dr. on the 7th to see if he is going to adjust the dose. I hope he figures this out soon because my hair is falling out again and I have been having bad headaches for a week now. UGH

Kelly,

Where can you purchase Upcal D?  Is it only found online?

I've never seen it in any stores.  I get mine from Colonial Medical but I think you can also get it through  Amazon.

Im guessing... maybe the nut is recommending lower calcium supplements with dairy vs other sources of calcium in diet due to most dairy products are fortified witb vitamin D... for "regular" people this improves uptake of the calcium.I'm not sure that that would be the case for us, considering our malabsorption. Personally, Im sticking with the ASMBS guidelines and adjusting per my labs.
