Honestly its frustrating that people take others comments so flippin the wrong
way. I mean we are all adults & if you post something expect that there are gonna
be things said that you may not agree with. Seriously. If you put yourself out there
by asking a question & only want the answers you wanna hear then there is no
need to post anything, because that ain't gonna happen. We are not 2 years old
here. If I post something & there is something I don't agree with or have a problem
with, I don't sit there & whine about how they are picking on me & bringing me down.
Seriously people grow up. If I don't agree with something you have to say, it doesn't
hurt me or bother me, I just laugh at your ass in the privacy of my own home & move
on. It's just beyond frustrating & yes I could of laughed this off & moved on but I decided
to vent. Instead of people reading others comments as like an attack on you, think
about what they are really trying to say to you to help you. People are too quick to get
all in a huff.

This isn't about any one post in particular. It's an accumulation of different times & it just so happens to be the time I felt like posting about it. Lol

LMAO!

I have been a member on Obesity Help since 2003 until June 2012. I deleted my account because some of the strange reactions that people have were starting to annoy me...then one day in June, I decided to re-join, but could not remember my sign in! OOPS! Anyhoo, long story short I made a new account with a different name.

Some of the Veterans on here get kinda bossy with the newbies and some of the newbies do get on the Veterans nerves...Just like you, I enjoy the entertainment when all hell breaks loose! I lmao when I read some of the posts and the answers that are given...

For the record, it has been like this on Obesity Help since I have been a member way back in 2003. Unfortunately, some people will never grow up!

I seriously have came to the conclusion that some MO people have been bullied their whole adult lives and some as children, this is their way of bullying somebody else. It is easy when you are not face to face with somebody...so they sometimes say some pretty mean stuff.

Just get some crunchy (healthy) snacks and sit back and read the posts! It beats the price of a movie ticket.

I am new here, and agree with you 100%.  We should all be here to support one another, not belittle and bully.

Veteran, newbie, or someone looking into WLS... it should be a colaboration of different ideas, suggestions, etc.  If a newbie has a concern, then we look to the veterans.  The fact that the veterans hang around is awesome... it helps remind us daily of just how hard, but amazing this lifelong journey is!

At the school where I work... the 11th & 12th graders help the kindergarteners on "soup day" to carry their trays (to prevent spilling).  Not only do the kindergarteners get to look up to the big kids, but...the older (and sometimes ****y) kids get to remember that a carrying a tray with a bowl of soup can be hard when your 5!

I love that idea of having the Juniors and Seniors helping the 5 year olds with their trays!  That is fabulous.

Yes, sometimes it can be very annoying when someone takes the time to honestly respond to a post and the OP gets all bent out of shape because (s)he didn't like one or more of the responses.  I try to remind myself that there are a lot of emotions surrounding our obesity and this whole process of surgery, losing the weight, and maintaining the loss (and extra hormones for those who are only a couple of months out from surgery).  Sometimes that enables me to just roll my eyes and "walk away" from a post, but sometimes -- depending on how pissy and personal the response from the OP is -- I "bite" back.

If people only want a particular answer, they should just say so (and then only the people willing to give that response will respond).  I am perfectly willing to ignore a post if someone says they only want a particular response or type of response.

When I start feeling the boil...I remember that I have the right to take what I want from the posts and leave the rest for somebody else!

Unfortunately it is hard to communicate emotion in a forum...

So true. It definitely is hard to communicate emotion via forum, txt, email.
