The things kids say

We are getting ready to move and I was going through some boxes from when we moved last and found a picture of me when I first met my husband, 20+ years ago and guess what came out of my daughter's mouth....."Wow mom, you were skinny."  To my delight, my husband said "Yes she was and she is almost there again."  I am down 81 lbs since I started this journey 14 months ago but am down 43 lbs in the last 15 weeks.  That is almost 3 lbs a week (12 lbs a month), which I am happy with.  It was great to have her put her arms around me (all the way) and she also said, "look dad, I can hug mom and touch my hands."  They are toooo funny. 

I would like to thank everyone here for their support.  It is great to come here and read all your posts and be able to comment on them and write my own posts and get so many comments from everyone.  This is the best board and I hope to stay a member for a long, long time.

Hi Wanda! I see that you're a pt of Dr Classen too! Have we met at a support group before? Anyway, congrats on the NSV. I had something similar happen recently. A 5-year-old i babysit regularly came up to me while i was fixing his dinner and hugged me. He put his arms around me and suddenly blurted out "what happened? i couldn't reach around you before!" i about died laughing. XD


p.s. I don't know if you  usually attend group, but the next support group is on August 16th at 6pm.

I recently got my drivers license renewed by mail.  The picture is about 10 years old and  I weighed about 70 pounds more than I do now.  My 11 year old daughter looks at it and says "  you were really pretty THEN."  

BTW,I have yet to reach the weight on my DL.  It hasn't been changed since high school, and I stretched the truth then.  I don't think they even look at the information when they renew it.  I mean really!!  At one point I weighed over 300 pounds and my DL said  I was 125.
