OT - things the cat drags in
I never had a very good relationship with my sister, with whom I shared a bedroom. One morning I woke up and got up, noticed that my cat had deposited a "present" next to my sister's face. A monstrous roof rat. Nestled right up next to her nose. I should have left it there, but I was never malicious.
My cat Tortellina, whenever she catches something, she comes in the cat door and starts yowling in a particularly piercing muffled meowl! Either my husband or I will say, "She's got something" and we go to see what she's caught. two-inch-long roach, mouse, preying mantis, lizard, gecko, bird, ground squirrel, rat, snake.... she's brought all of these home. The mice, small birds, small rats, snakes, lizards etc.... all go into the snake's cage. He enjoys the treats.
The worst is when we wake up now and discover the cats had a "bird party" in the night. This is when they catch a dove or a pigeon, bring it into the house, and have a dinner party. The hallway is carpeted in dove-grey feathers. And little bird heads and feet.
