I am right there with you...and I'm also 6 days out. I am only getting in about 1/2 the fluids I should be and basically no protein...its very frustrating! Everything I try makes me so nauseated and when I vomit, the pain is unbearable...Let me know if you find something that you like! I keep having to remind myself that it will all be worth it, eventually...right now, however, I'm questioning my choice to have the surgery. Good luck!

I am having this same problem. I am six days out and though I did not have problems with the protein drink pre op.. the smell or thought of them now make me sick. My husband has been helping me and we've added, taken out, changed flavors, nothing is working. Everything is too sweet, too thick, too thin.  I can not get in near enough protein. I can not get in enough anything. Its a struggle to get in water each day.  I think my Dr office sells unjury chicken soup. Someone told me GNC has these protein "shots" that are liquid and you just drink the quick tube. I might have to try them if I can not get this fixed. Let me know if you find something that works!

I'm 10 days post op and had the same problem as you...I absolutely hated the shakes.  I tried about 3 different types of powders and couldnt force myself to finish them.  Someone recommended I try the ready made shakes and BINGO that worked!  I now drink vanilla Premier Protein Shakes from Sam's Club.  They are 160 calories/30 g protein/ 1g carb.

Good Luck

Try Body Fortress chocolate mixed with water and some ice. It is cheap and thin. I mix 1 scoop with 6-8oz of water. Sometimes I will throw in an extra 1/2 scoop. It has 24g protein in 1 scoop. You can get it at Walmart for $15.

You can also try adding the sugar free Torani syrups to try to change the flavor. I would also try adding more water so they aren't as thick. I loved all the shakes pre surgery and hated them post surgery. I treated them like medicine that I had to choke down.

If you are allowed decaf coffee - you might try adding the protein shakes to your coffee for a mocha treat.

I use unflavored protein (unjury brand) with water and add SF ocean spray cran mix (like crystal lite) it is not heavy/thick at all and taste great :)

I ordered a few different types of products.

Syntrax Nectar in the apple flavor. A whey liquid protein in a watermelon flavor. Bariwise fruit drink in peach mango and a Wonderslim fruit drink.

Some of them are lower in protein than the IsoPure shake but if I can actually stand to drink it that's a huge plus.
