"DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?"

The best Al Michaels quote of all time.

My stepsister, Crystal Cox. Unknown, but she ran in Greece and won a gold medal for relay.

Besides her I would say Dominique Dawes.

Michelle Kwan.  She is the only Olympian I have ever actually met and her Panis Angelicus piece actually made me misty eyed.  (I was in grad school at Vandy when the U.S. National Championship was in Nashville and a friend and I just happened to run into her outside a restaurant near the arena the day before the event started.  We were also in the audience the night of the women's final (long program), but that was the year that she lost to Tara Lipinski.

We went to the Olympic Diving Trials here last month. Greg Louganis was sitting in front of us. He was so genuinely nice to everyone who came up to him. My son got a personalized autographed picture. I thanked him for his work in HIV and the HRC. He is a cute as ever.
My son is a swimmer so we are watching a lot of swimming.
On Saturday he will be the #1 seed in the All-City championship in the back and the butterfly. I adore being a swim mom. When I watch the Olympics and they show the moms it's just gets me.
I think the swimming world is cool and I enjoy being a small part of it.

Good luck to your son!

I was a competitive swimmer for many years as well and my parents were at almost every meet. It meant so much to me that they spent so many hours at the pool cheering me on. I also did fly, so I was just flabbergasted by Dana Vollmer's race. Wow!
