Thanks so much. I am eating like Lora eating the protein then sides til I get my little signal that says that's enough. But I feel like I may be eating too much fruit, it chews down to nothing and seems like I can eat more of it. I am loving watermelon, nectarines, strawberries and melon during these hot days. May be eating a cup of them. I feel fine but that could be why I'm stalling these days.

I am going to measure today and see what I'm eating? I thought a cup to two cups were fine but apparently I need to dial it back a bit.

You are all so wonderful to share- THANKS

At 7 months on my plan I am to have 3 oz of protein 3 times a day and up to 1/2 cup veggies and 1/2 cup of fruit per day. Protein first of course. I added the veggies at 2 months and will be adding the fruit at 3 months.

I'm of the opinion that just because you *can* eat that much, it's  probably best to *not*.  I'm only 3 1/2 months out and I can only eat about 1/2 cup of food at a time.  I could probably eat more, but I stop myself because I don't want to make a habit of over-eating -- which got me fat in the first place.  I find I am content with half a cup and don't need more than that.

I am about 9.5 months out and I eat around 3/4 of a cup of food. I measure my food. sometimes I feel like I can eat more (I usually don't) and sometimes I can't eat the whole 3/4 of a cup. but that is me and all pouches are not the same!

I have to watch the watermelon and cantaloupe.  If I eat those with my meal, no matter what protien I eat I can always eat way more than I really should.  I try to eyeball what a cup is and I weigh my meats, to help gauge.  Now I avoid the melons unless they are a separate, measured, planned snack with a protien.

honestly, all plans are so different. i'm to eat 1-1/2 cups of food at a time. and honestly, i can usually do it. BUT, i don't eat very dense food. i don't eat meat and my protein choices don't sit super heavy.

i'm following my NUT's plan and am always under 1200 calories a day (even though they want me up at 1500, so i guess i'm not following it with the calories lol).

but fruits, salads, etc, don't take up a ton of room once they are chewed down.

i weigh with a measuring cup, or know what a measurement is in the dish i use (from measuring a lot)

I do measure all my food. Im supposed to be eating 2 oz at every meal. That's what my plan is with my surgeon and my nut. So I bought snack containers, that are 2 oz each and I just put my food in there. That's what I eat. And everyone's plan is different, cause the girls that I had surgery with, they're plan had them on 3/4 of a cup, and another girl is up to 1 cup. They are all taller than me, and I guess need more. Idk. But my nut wants me to stay on 1/4. So that's what I've been doing. Granted, I have days when I want a bit more, so I usually eat a couple of almonds (3-4) and I'm good. I do carry a small container that is 1/4 cup and I will measure my food, always. I also bought a small scale, so I will sometimes just weigh out the 2 oz if I can put it in the container. Sounds like a lot to do, but it keeps me in check and it's what works for me.
I'm not saying its what everyone needs to do. This is just what I do and so far it's helped me keep track of everything I eat. I've now been logging everything that goes in my mouth for over a year and i want to keep doing just that, cause it helps me to physically see what I've been eating and how much.
