OT - worried about my kitty Cayenne

Cayenne has been doing really well since recovering from her illness at the beginning of July.  She's eating well, seems to feel OK, her blood sugar level has been good, she's gained a little weight back.

But yesterday, she was sleeping on my old printer on my desk, which doesn't look like a comfy place to sleep to me, but she loves to sleep on there.  And somehow she fell off of it.  The printer is on the corner of the desk, so she didn't just fall off the printer, she fell off the desk.  I didn't see her fall, I heard a crash and by the time I turned around she was on the floor, standing up and shaking herself.  She didn't seem to have hurt herself.  I just thought it was odd.  Maybe she rolled over in her sleep or something and fell off but that's certainly not usual for her.

Then last night, she peed on my couch.  Unfortunately, sitting right next to me.  So she sort of peed on me, too.  It's not unusual for her to pee outside the litter box but she usually doesn't pee on me.  And a few minutes later, as I was cleaning up the couch, she jumped up on the desk beside the couch and pooped.  And it was nasty.  So I figured she had an upset tummy or something.

After that, she wanted to go outside and I let her out because I thought it would be a good idea to be outside if she had to poop some more.  This morning, she didn't seem very interested in coming in to eat but I was able to coax her in, and she did go on to eat pretty well.

Then, just now, she was sleeping on the printer again, and she fell off again.  Again, I didn't actually see her fall so I don't know how it happened.  I just heard it.  But it's really odd that she would fall off it twice in two days.  Maybe I'll rearrange things on my desk so the printer can be more in the middle so if she falls off that, she won't fall all the way off the desk.

It just worries me that she would fall twice in two days.

I wonder if she is having balance issues. Could be an ear infection or something like that. I hope is something simple and she gets back to normal soon. I am glad she still has an apetite though!

Hi Kelly, I hope she doesn't have an inner ear infection or something neurological that would contribute to her apparent imbalance and other behaviors. Here are some links to some articles that might provide some insight. Hopefully you aren't looking at more vet bills and worrying. Poor kitty!

Kelly,
Have your vet check out Cayenne especially with all she has gone through. Please keep us posted.   Jane

I used to have a male cat who constantly fell off our tv. He also drooled in his sleep and left a dried string of drool down the front of the tv once...lol. We saw him fall once. He was just heavily into a dream and tried to move.

We still have his sister and she has fallen off my old computer moniter. She was sleeping and I guess dreaming of mice catching, or bird catching.

I've had a couple other cats do this too. They were all indoor-outdoor cats. None were strictly indoor.

I hope your poor kitty is ok.

That does sound a very weird , cats do fall in their sleep , but the pee and poop thing is strange , she may be more sick than you think , but beyond makingsure she eats and drinks , I don't know what you can do.
Moving the printer is a good idea.

she may have some type of bladder infection or seizures. I would recommend calling the vet to see what he/she thinks....Wishin you the best!

I would definitely take her in to the vet just to be sure there isn't anything else going on.
