Internal Arguments!

So lasts nights events put me in quite a  dilemma so here is the whole gory story.

Last night at 6:30pm  was the 90 minute spin class I do every week, and it is packed!  With the rain yesterday the outdoor cycle club canceled their ride so I knew getting to class early was a must.  I walked into the room at
5:30pm to see towels and water bottles on about 20 of the almost 70 bikes, so I set my bottles on a bike for me and another bottle on a bike for my friend so I could go change.  Do everything I need to like fill bottles up and get settings dialed in and jump in the saddle for a nice warm-up for 30 minutes.  Now warm up for me isn’t just turn the pedals for 30 minutes it is doing interval sets and working up a major sweat before class.

Class starts and the coach says we will be doing squats, I immediately smile because I know the next 90 minutes will be pure nastiness.  Squats go something like this:

2 minutes good resistance sprint (for me this means if the pedals aren’t turning already I need to stand up and throw myself into it to get them moving)
15 seconds get off the bike and off the floor if you have passed out
1 minute isometric squat (total nastiness)
15 seconds shake your legs out
1 minute isometric squat (you thought the first one was nasty!)
15 seconds get on the bike and get your pedals moving

REPEAT the previous 4 minutes and 45 seconds of nastiness! Oh yeah do it 4 more times too!

So the first hour of class is a climb with hill attacks did you watch the TDF?  Pretty much that stuff, lots of resistance turning over with good RPMS and then adding more and standing up for 1-2 minutes at a time before sitting down and pedaling faster for 3 more minutes rinse repeat and do it for about an hour! Then on 2 squats!

Class finishes and I am sitting on the floor saying to myself “Damn I gotta walk down and get my stuff out of the locker and then to my car!".  So last night I went to bed taking some muscle relaxers and pain killers  Hey I earned them!

I wake up this morning and this is where the dilemma really starts.  I wake up and say to myself “Self! Time to get up", Self Answers “You know it we are hungry!"  my legs reply on their own screaming “F YOU!!! Buddy we are on strike today we aren’t doing anything!!!".  Now I am like damn I have to go to work and other things I really need my legs to move….

Then another part of my body joins in the argument.  My bowels scream “LEGS! I am feeling overly stuffed and am out to let loose! You may wanna work and get us all to the toilet and just remember you are attached to SELF! Right below me so it really is in your best interest to get moving!"  Legs reply “ALREADY MOVING!"

My "self" and "body" had a very similar conversation this morning. I ran 6 miles yesterday which is a huge deal for me.
I felt so good running in the fresh air and then this morning I wanted to stay in the bed.
I did get my buns moving and to thegym for my water aerobics class. Still in pain! But in a good way!
