Okay, I start off by saying I havent had enough balls short of speak to bring this up to my doc or nurse. I am embarred to ask you guys as well. Since I had my gallbladder out on July 2nd...TMI part. Everytime I have a BM is feels like it is really aciey. It burns, and I don't get anything with acid because of reflex. To make it wrose, after I go my butt hurts for hours and in alot of cases it starts to bleed. My crack itself is bright red and hurts to touch....another TMI part. Even after I finish my buniess and clean up it seems like more comes out after I am done and it happens every time I have a BM. And I have them 2 to 5 times a day now.....Any suggestions would be great. So for it being so gross. It's so bad at times it wake me up out of a sleep with the burning....I have tried baby wipes and some cream but no luck. Thanks guys.... its so emabarrsing

You need to go see your doc.  Have you had a recent colonoscopy? History of internal  hemmeroids? have you tried taking a stool softener? Don't be scared to talk to your doc!  This is a part of your body too and if you're scared your worried your doc isn't mature enough to handle it, find another.

Id suggest writing everything down if you're embarrassed and read it out to your doctor, or just hand the note card to him/her.  Good luck!

Aww.  Definently need to talk to your Doc though. Pain is never normal even if sometimes there is little we can do about it.  You can try just giving the office a call and asking over the phone, or if you have a triage insurance there may be a nurse line to call. And hey, a complete stranger with a medical background that you will never meet!

Had my colonoscopy when I was 28, definately not too young if you're having issues.

Call your doc or your nurse and tell them what's going on.  I'm still pre-op and don't have enough experiences with people post RNY who have issues like that.  I would say that since your (and any other) RNY patients digestive tract is shorter, and that your liver is not sending bile to your gallbladder for storage that you could see loose stools.

You need to talk to your doc or see a GI doc.  I had my gallbladder out and had diarrhea and runny stools on and off for maybe the first year after, but you shouldn't be having burning or pain.  You could have anything from a bacterial infection to a tear or hemorrhoids, and that is just a few examples.  That is not normal and you really need to be checked.  They will probably have you do a stool sample to rule out infection and/or blood in your stool, and you may need a colonoscopy.

Good luck, I hope you get some relief soon!

Its normal. I had the same issues after mine was taken out. Since we no longer have a gallbladder the bile that would of been sent to our gallbladder goes dirrectly to our bowels creating loose stools. I went several times a day mostly after eating anything, especially fatty foods. It will get better, but if you have concerns about it or anything for that matter you should never be afraid or embarressed to talk to your Dr. thats what they are there for. What if its something serious? The Dr is there for you. Wish you the best of Luck.

I had days of diarrhea post-op, and my bum was seriously raw. Wet wipes just burned. But they make these flushable Preparation H wipes that seriously help soothe your tushie. Get some of those while you are working with your dr to figure this out. And tell your mom- she won't care except to want to help you!

Have you tried Tucks? Tucks is what I used after my rectocele repair surgery. They are very soothing. I would also try getting a sitz bath, you can google this. It is also very soothing, especially if you put a bit of Witch Hazel in the sitz bath. Pat your bum dry and if at all possible lay on your bed with your bum up and let it air dry.
I hope that this helps.

BTW, you are NEVER to young for a colonoscopy if you have discomfort and pain. I would definitely get to the Doctor asap and not be nervous...I think that I lost all of my bodily pride when I experienced vaginal prolapse...my bladder and uterus literally fell out of my vagina! Had to have everything repaired and or removed.

Take care of your body and it will take care of you.
