Gallbladder issues
As many of you know Ive beeb having what I believe to be gallbladder issues.
I have pain on my right under my ribs that travels up my back in between my shoulder blades and into my right shoulder. That pain intensifies times 10 after eating and I feel it in the center of my chest just below my breast bone. About 15 mins after eating I get what feels like cramps in the center of my stomach. Nobody seems to be convinced that these are gallbladder issues except for me. I dont kow what else could be causing this since all my tests have come back normal yet im in pain every minute of every day. I was put on prilosec and its cramping up my musclesin my feet and legs almost to the point i cant walk but has done absoloutly nothing for my pain. It might as well be an M&M.
I saw the gastro dr today and finally got my HIDA scan scheduled for monday at 10 am. Im hoping this tests holds the answers cause I simply cant go on with this pain.

Yes, gallbladder. I have the same. I think it feels like I swallowed marbles. Awful pain. Same places. But I am also getting nauseated after the pain, and then throw up. I have thrown up more since surgery than in the last five years. My RNY was on April 23rd. And I think of all the times I thought I ate too fast, didn't chew enough, or ate one bite too many and now realize it was actually my gallbladder. I also was negative on the ultra sound. No stones or sludge showed up. But when I had my HIDE scan last week, each time they pushed the stuff into my IV to activate my gallbladder it was the horrible cramping (swallowed marbles) feeling, the pain under the right ribs and in center under breast bone (where I picture my pouch to be) and the intense neausea. Now that I can relate that pain to my gallbladder I know I have been having problems for awhile. Be sure to tell them during the HIDE scan of any pain or neausea so they can note that and let your Dr know at the follow up appointment for the results. I am scheduled to get my gallbladder out on the 20th as long as I dont have any major problems till then. I am so upset over this because I am now swimming, walking, running, and working out daily except on Sundays. And now I will have to heal and rest. Sucks.
Good luck on your test and I hope all goes good and they either find the problem if its not your gallblader or they schedule you to get the nasty little booger out!! take care and best wishes.

Yes, the feeling of swallowing marbles is exactly the feeling. Im almost 3 yrs, 4 months out from my RNY.
Ive had 2 CT scans with contrast....NEG
An ultrasound.....NEG
An Endoscopy....NEG
And im really starting to get frustrated cause this pain is taking over my life. I cant do anything for very long because of this pain. Sometimes I get nauseaus but not always and have never thrown up but I suppose thats next.

I wish more surgeons would take out the gallbladder during RNY. Some do automatically, some don't some need pre-existing problems. But it is stated with rapid weight loss this causes problems with the gall bladder and the patients end up turning around and having to get put out all over again and recuperate, hence another risk by being put under. Sorry for all of you having to do this.
I wish they took mine out when they did the RNY. But my insurance will not cover that. Go figure. They instead will pay for an ultrasound at one hospital, a HIDE scan at another facility, and now a surgery at another hospital (bigger city).
And my surgeon said that the stones and sludge do not allways show up in the CT scans or ultrasounds. So why do they make us go threw those, and pay those dang copays for those.
Anyhow I really hope they figure it out for you.
