Am I accidentally over eating?
I am 13 months post op and have had a very successful journey so far. I have never gotten sick off anything, never had anything get stuck, no dumping or foamies. NOTHING. I am blessed to have my "pouch of steel" lol. BUT it also makes it hard because I just feel "normal". It seriously feels like they never even performed the surgery on me.
I have noticed lately that I can eat just as much as my partner who is 6 years post op. It makes me really nervous especially when I see people on here talk about being over a year out and only eating 1/2 a sandwich or not being able to finish a wendy's half salad. I never get that really overwhelming "full" feeling. I just stop when I feel i'm pretty full. Can I ask everyone else who is at least a year out how much they are eating. Maybe give a few sample meals and how much of it you are eating?
I am below goal already and would like to continue losing if its possible. They say it is hard to stretch your pouch but I still get very nervous. I am so scared of regain!

*hugs* I have no adivce for you sadly, but I an nearly 2 years post op sleeve and I can eat a lot. Not from stuffing myself....Ive just always been able to...makes it really hard as I have been yo yo dieting old school style since a year post op :( Think some people just have stretcheir stomach material...or so I have been told, lol. The only thing I can think of to say is stick to a mostly protein and veggie diet.
Hope someone else comes along and helps!

Depending on what the food is, I can eat like a "normal" person. I can eat a whole WW meal or a Lean Cuisine, but sandwiches, I can still only eat 1/2.
Bottom line: track the food you are eating. As long as you burn more calories than you consume, you'll lose. Consume what you burn, stay the same. You are still enjoying the malabsorption, so you can "get away with more and not gain at this point". That will change in approx another year.
For me, the real work began at about 2.5 years out....I have to be mindful of the amounts I eat, but I workout a lot so I can eat more than "the average bear".

I am 7+ years out and I can nearly eat a single cheeseburger from a fast food restaurant, nothing with it nor all the bread. I can eat 1/2 of a 6 inch sub from Subway, turkey with veggies. I can eat a whole grilled cheese sandwich without crust, but not a whole toasted bagel. When I actually dumped my food in a measuring cup it was about a cup of food to a cup and a half. I try to choose carefully and this doesn't represent what I eat daily just an idea based on things you know what size they are.
