There.  I feel better.

I am at Panera because it is hot in my house and because they have good salads here and there is no good salad at my house.

These people sitting near me are so LOUD.  Apparently it is two small groups of people, because a couple of them keep saying goodbye, as if they are going to leave.  And I keep thinking "Yeah, leave already!"  But no, they don't actually leave.  They just talk about it.  Meanwhile, their toddler squeals and bangs on the back of my seat.

I realize it's a public place and you can't expect it to be super quiet.  But when you see people there typing on their laptops, wouldn't that be a clue that you shouldn't be super loud?

That toddler stuff drives me nuts.  Some parents let their kids do anything they want and it really bothers me.  I'd understand if they asked their kid to stop and tried some escelation of punishment, but just letting an unruly child be unruly gets under my skin.

Similar issue, we went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and this toddler came up and started grabbing food off my toddlers plate.  The parents laughed and thought it was a hoot... I literally gave them the WTF look.  After they saw I was a bit bothered by it, they said oh, he's just curious....hahaha

....... Angry.

My "babies" are in their 30s.  it's a different world these days.  We were too broke to be out eating with our children.  It amazes me the families that are out to dinner when my kids would have been at home in bed.

I know how you feel.

Places like that are loud anyway, but then you throw in the parents-who-don't-parent-their-kid factor, and it can be really annoying.

Hopefully, they will leave soon

me, my sister, her fiance, and his kids went out to dinner a few nights ago and there was a table nearby that was the same way. except they were yelling things that weren't exactly appropriate in a family friendly resturant. luckily, we were just about done as they were really starting in

I really don't understand why parents would let their kids behave that way.

When my sister's oldest three boys were little, they were not very well behaved.  She had three very close together in age and one of them has pretty serious emotional and behavioral problems.  She almost never took them to restaurants because she knew they were likely to behave badly there.  As they got older, the oldest two began to behave much better and she took them to more places.

But seriously, if you can't control your kids in public, they should stay home.

these weren't even kids, they were probably late-20s, early 30s. but i guess if your parents don't discipline you as a child, you'll act the same as an adult.

That really irritates me as well. My ex- husband and I would go places with our children. We had 6 altogether and we always got compliments from others on how well they behaved. That made me so proud. The oldest is now 30 and the youngest is now 15. They are so polite and respectful of others. I am sure they will bring their children up the same way
