Can someone help me with my lab results?
I would not stop B-12. You could decrease the amount you take or take it every other day but don't stop.
B12 is ok, you want over 1000 up to 2000. For D, it's optimium to get labs of 80-90 or a little more. BUT, each patient is different on the amount of dry D3 needed to get to 80+ labs. Example: I spent 2 years of 5 of the 50K IU dry D3 per week, and labs were at a 65. After several years tryint to elevate my D labs, I began taking one 50K IU dry D3 per day, for a total of 7 per week. Labs 2 months ago, after a year of 7 per week, my D labs were a 104. I discussed this with my bariatric Kaiser doctor, and she felt current D RDA levels were way off. Her opinion is that normal range should be 50-100, not the current lower levels. At 104, she was comfortable with my current D3 intake. I get these dry D3 and my Calcium Citrate Only from vitalady.com. The calcium citrate only does not have D3 in it, but that's ok, I take lager amounts of dry D3. Personally, I would not stop taking my B12. Again levels retained depend on the patient. My 2000 B12 labs were using 3-4 of the 2500mcg sublinguals I take. My wife takes 7 of these per week and her B12 labs were at 1064. She takes twice as much B12 as I do, and her labs are half of my levels. DAVE
