Anyone with Experience on Creon

I've been fighting protein deficiency on and off for 6 months despite adequate protein intake (currently 100-120 gr per day).  My doc put me on Creon to aid in protein digestion, and to help me put on 5-10 lbs (I'm really close to underweight and look like I'm thinner than that).

Could anyone share their experiences on Creon? I'm looking for information such as how long did you need to be on it, how much weight did you gain, and etc 

It seems to be making my hypoglycemia a bit worse, and my picky pouch is starting to flare up again.

My only experience is with children with cystic fibrosis. It is required for the processing and absorption of fat. The dosage is regulated to fat intake.

As with Linda, my only experience is with CF. My daughter has CF and takes creon to help her absorb her fats and vitamins. She has a hard time gaining weight, even with the creon. There are other types of pancreatic enzymes, so if creon is tough on you, you could ask about zenpep or one of the others.

Thanks for the info.  I know the doc prescribed creon to reduce the malabsorption of nutrients, so hopefully as my intestines absorb more, I can stop it.  I'll stay with it for now - I can handle the effects, just need to be more careful about what I eat.
