What's up for Saturday? It's 5 o'clock somewhere!
I got up a little after 3 to head to work for some overtime. Didn't sleep great last night, so it is going to be a long day. After work (almost 3hrs left after this break) I'll do some chores at the house, go help my mom, use our leftover roast turkey to make Nik's Chicken Pot pie and also I plan to make her Crab and Asiago Egg Casserole - that thing Fills. Me. Up. So you know it is hearty!
The afternoon will be helping my folks, tilling my garden and trying to make some improvements in my rapidly approaching "Hoarder" status house. No planned formal exercise - rest day for the first time in 2wks.
B1 - click (w/ gingerbread SF syrup - interesting)
S - cottage cheese w/ blue berries
B2 - egg whites and shrimp/peppers, turkey bacon
L - Nik's chicken (turkey) pot pie
S - peach or a PURE protein bar
- whichever I didnt' have the previous snack
D - crab, asiago egg casserole
S - if I need one after dinner, ww tortilla w/ turkey bacon and slice tomato
this takes me to about 1140 calories, 81 carbs after fiber
What's up for your weekend?
I need to get some work done today and also wash some dishes because my kitchen counter is buried under a huge mound of them.
I had toast for breakfast which I don't have often but it sounded good and I'm out of protein bars and out of milk, so no protein shakes.
I have some beans left from a couple days ago that I'll probably eat for lunch - Island Red Beans, which is a spicy Puerto Rican dish that consists mainly of kidney beans, along with some onions, peppers, and garlic.
I dunno what else I'm eating today. Maybe beans for dinner, too. And a protein shake or bar if I go to the store or decide to drive to the farm to get milk.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I am up and outside with my puppy love. Housetraining is coming along. Animal lovers: any tips on making it so that every time she comes out she doesn't need someone out here with her to go? If I put her out here alone she just sits and looks at the door until I come out and then she goes. I think she's playing me and it may just be a matter of standing my ground but there's also the element of KNOWING she went. Or maybe I'm just one of those humans who is a sucker.
Anyway, I'm about to hit the farmer's markte for some milk and veggies. Later the divas and I will probably catch a movie (with the last little bit of chump change I have in the world. Sigh.) Oh...and today I HAVE to deal with this 5 lb. bag of shredded carrots the divas grandma gave me before they go bad. You know what they say. When life gives you a 5 lb. bag of shredded carrots, make carrot cake! (For other people)
Eats, as I know them:
1. Click + skim + sf caramel syrup + sf coconut syrup
2. I usually have a bite or two of something at the farmer's market. May get an empanada from the empenada lady :)
3. Greek yogurt + PB2 + Fiber One
(I'm sure there will be popcorn or SOMETHING at the movies)
4. I am making...wait for it, wait for it...Taco Casserole for dinner! (For all its popularity I actually don't make it terribly often because my oldest daughter doesn't like it.)
5. I am making some protein pudding which I will then turn into what I call "Five MInute Mousse" (details forthcoming on Bariatric Foodie next week)
Oh yeah and Lori...the "things" that I made and had Kitten try out will be on the blog next week as well.

Well.... that and the fact I am completely helpless in the kitchen without a recipe, specifically one that is easy to follow and doesn't require a safari expedition for the ingredients. Well, and the fact the foods are really really good. Oh, and maybe that they fill up even my bottomless pit abyss of a pouch could play a part.
ok anyway
Re: Nana - the long way - if you have the time pull a chair to the door and sit just far enough outside that she will go out and do her business. When she goes, act like she just gave you the winning lottery ticket. Maybe the next day scoot back a couple of inches, pull the door a little closed, etc
The easier way - leave her out until she goes. If you happen to witness it act like she just gave you the winning lottery ticket. LOL
Best bets with pups - within 30 minutes of eating, drinking, playing or napping they need to go outside.
I CAN NOT WAIT to get the goods on the secret "things"!
Breakfast- Protein shake and coffee
Lunch- whatever they are serving at the party
Dinner- depends oon what I eat at the party!
Have a great day! Nik- I have no advice on the training of the pooch. We don't have a fully fenced in yard so when we were training Neville we had to go out with him. I can say that crate training was the best thing we did. He only had 1 accident in the house.

I haven't had breakfast yet and have no clue on lunch. But I do know we are having pizza with friends and their kids tonight at a pool party. So I will bring greek yogurt and string cheese along for me. Will try a bite of pizza but have had a hard time with it the few bites I've tried since surgery.
Well, this post was a good reminder to make some sort of plan for the day - better go check out the cupboards and fridge. Have a great day everyone!
Amy
I did an hour run on the elliptical and am now having a cup of coffee and waiting for my husband to wake up so I can make us a leisurely breakfast. We're planning to relax for most of the day before we pick up Joe's aunt at the airport and go to his parents' house.
My appointment with the orthopedic surgeon went well yesterday. He doesn't think I have a stress fracture, just Achilles tendonitis. Just have to lay off running and then work my way back up slowly.
Breakfast: Coffee
Brunch: Eggs with broccoli and cheese with oatmeal-wheat toast.
Snack: Kashi GoLean Cereal or crispy caramel protein/fiber bar.
Dinner: Not sure. If we're at the in-laws we'll probably order out.
Snack: Kashi cereal, more eggs, or some plain yogurt and fruit.
Have a happy Saturday all!
