Husband help

 My better half had RNY surgery on Wed and today he is throwing up horribly bad and the doc on call called in stuff to stop the throwing up.... Hopefully that helps any time now.  He also did an enima for the other issue.  Waiting for doc to call to see when enough is enough to go to the ER.  Any advice???

I was very nauseous for several days after surgery, and had to be given meds for the first few days. They helped a lot. Give these a chance, and if they don't work fairly soon, call the doctor back.

As far as constipation is concerned, Some folks get that, some get diarrhea and some don't have either because they are just empty from the solely liquid diet. 

Don't be afraid to call the doctor back if you have to. They have one on call because they expect patients may need assistance.

I'd be most concerned about dehydration if he continues to vomit. Hang in there....sometimes it feels harder to watch than to be the one that is recovering.

when i had my surgery my surgon told me to sip on apple juice mixed half and half with water.  Motts makes one that never made me sick calls Motts Plus.  I hope that helps for part of his problem at least.  It did for me.

 Thanks we are in the ER now.... Will be getting a cat scan of his stomach area.

I had same thing at the beggining I went into the ER my surgeon said I had a stricture... i ended up staying over in hospital for 3 days with meds to fix very common tho prob 1 in every 5 get one he said as far as his other issue I didnt go for a while at the beggining scared me but very normal

 Could his nausea be stemming from pain MEDS? Codeine based drugs make me sick.. Just a thought. Hope he feels better soon.
