Ok - now after getting on the scale

I have offically haven't lost allot of weight.

Surgery Weight in is 260.8
Today's Weight is 254.6

Dietian and Surgeon are very concerned, I am trying to get all my protein in..
My water in also.

What else could this be??

Is this surgery not working for me??
I had a sleeve done almost 3 years ago- and had a hard time loosing weight, doctor/dietian sent me home eating a small milk shake daily and then my weight dropped. (I regained all the weight due to massive complications) - So not sure???

I hope I don't have to do this for this surgery.. If figured this was IT... this was my last try in loosing weight..

I don't know what else I have to do to loose weight.

Carmen, I don't know why your loss is slow, other than the fact you are a revision. Could it be that since you have had so many complications, and with them, your body is now in starvation mode and desperately holding onto any weight it can?

At any rate, take care and keep us posted. I hope they are able to give you some answers soon.

That might be the issue.  It refuses to drop any weight because her body is afraid of not getting any more.

What are you eating every day?  It is hard to tell how you are doing if we don't know what you are doing.
When you say the doctor told you to have a small milk shake, do you mean protein shake?
There is a chance that you are in starvation mode but until we see how you are eating it is hard to tell.  Are you tracking everything you eat?

Did you gain weight in the hospital? Many gain from all the gas and fluids and can take a few weeks just to lose that amount, much less anything additional. That being said, I'd still think you would've lost a bit more. Best of luck at your appt - I hope you find some answers!

FYI - at 4 wks out, I was only down 10 lbs from my surgery weight. Now I am 11 wks out and down 34 lbs from my surgery weight.

I am sorry to hear of your slow loss. It does sound like your body is in starvation mode. Mine did this to me right before surgery causing panic that I wasn't going to reach my surgeons goal for me. I managed to hit goal right on the head BUT after talking with his cordinator day before surgery and reviewing that I choose a no carb protien shake and on top of a 4oz piece of meat and cup of veggies my boddy went into starvation mode because I hadn't given it ENOUGH carbs and that coupled with the low calories caused my body to just stop losing weight.

I may only be 5 days out, but I did get home weighing in ten pounds heavier than surgery and was frustrated Saturday and even yesterday because I hadn't budged even though I was only taking in 100-200 calories and only protien and it rehit me what the cordinator said. So starting yesterday during the day I started making sure I get between 25-30 grams of good carbs mixed with 70-100 grams of protein and roughly 700 calories and this morning I woke up 6 pounds down. Now one day doing this obviously doesn't make it science or sound, but I just weighed (I have been scale obssessed for years, weighing in day and night) and I am down a pound already from waking up.

I hope that everything goes good for you when you meet with them and they are able to help you. You will be ok and make it through this, you too are still just beginning and it will get you where you want to be!

Not sure what is so concerning to your surgeon? At a little over 6wks I had lost about 13 lbs. Your body just went through major trauma and is trying to make some adjustments for it.
If this is the same surgeon that suggested McDonald's milkshakes for weight loss, you might get a 2nd opinion.

make sure you are following your plan measuring intake, getting protein and plenty of water.. move /exercise as you are able. Let us know how your follow up goes... hope all is well
