UGH so sorry, this couldn't have been handled more wrong if they tried. Chances are good that this is no big deal, but in the meantime they really are not treating you with the respect you deserve at all.

This happened to me recently-although the imaging center both called and mailed me a letter. I freaked because my grandmother had breast cancer. On my second visit, they did a sonogram of the area that was in question. The sonogram was given a "wet read" and my fears were alleviated before I left. SThe Dr. and I talked for a while about how freaked I was. She told me that next year when I come for my mammogram, ask for a "wet read". This way, if an abnormality is seen, they will do the sonogram before I leave. Just sharing this in case it helps you any. Good luck and best wishes.

I had a mammogram about a week ago.  The technician said they send a letter regarding the results, and that letter may indicate a need for follow up testing.  Having her warn me about the possibility of receiving that news in the mail was comforting.

I hope all turns out well for you!

Repeat mammograms happen to me EVERY year! Ugh. However, they call me, which I prefer to a letter.

Hope it all turns out ok. Mine always have so far. And I always have to have follow-up CT scans done. Scary every time.
