different multi

I have always had an issue with taking multi vitamins and nausea. I accidentally forgot my multi this morning (I take it after eating) and it is the FIRST day I have been nausea free since my surgery! I am currently taking centrum chewables. Has anybody had any success with another vitamin that might be easier on my system?

The problem is most likely the zinc all at once. I can't do it either and I get vitamins with 100% only of zinc that is meant to be taken in two doses. That way I only get 50% at a time.

I'm over 5 years out and my multi is horse pills or I'd recommend them.

I can now swallow pills, I have just been using chewables since my surgery and I am due to buy new ones.

Try a multi that you swallow, like Centrum.

I spent a long time cruising luckyvitamin.com for a good multi. They have labels you can look at on their website and their prices are pretty cheap. I made sure it was complete and was potent. These are real potent. They're called Alive! Whole Food Energizer Max Potency with no added iron (I don't like iron in a multi -- they're in there with their enemies and I take extra at another time anyhow). But I'm warning you, the pills are big and you take them 3x a day. They are over 2cm long and half a cm thick. I would never have taken these early post op.

I will try centrum that you swallow and see if it makes a difference. How far apart do I have to take them? Maybe I can take them in the evening, after dinner and before bed.

There's not an official answer to that question.  Some people take them at the same time.  I suggest taking them at least two hours apart, which seems to be the standard amount of time between doses of different vitamins.

Thanks Kelly, I really appreciate your input - you have more knowledge than my NUT's office when it comes to vitamins, they still recommend Flintstones!
