Ugh, Buyers Remorse!
Hang in there, it'll get better. The worst part is where you are...the air they pump you with for the surgery and the stuff they use to put you to sleep. Those things make the first few days worse than the actual surgery itself. Eventually that'll work itself out (no pun intended). I hated the sleeping part, I am a stomach sleeper and I couldn't sleep on my stomach or my side very well for the first few weeks. I am now at week 8 and finally feel normal.
But guess what, the scale has me at 50lbs of loss from my heaviest. That feeling of when your clothes are all too big and the scale just keeps going down reminds you real fast why you did this. All you are going through is so worth it! I of course am still in the beginning of the journey too...and am super excited of what's still to come.
I lived off re-fried beans, apple sauce, jello, and instant mashed potatoes the first four weeks. Keep trying things until you find things that work. Now that I am on solid foods, I still have moments where I get frustrated because there are things I just can't tolerate yet. You're NOT alone.
Good luck!!!

Hi Dizzy, I am 2 weeks post op from my Laparoscopic RNY. I too, had more pain than I was prepared for. Do you have a drain? I got sent home with mine and it was a pain in the ass and my right side for sure! I had to go back at one week and my surgeon took out the drain and I was a new person! Also, the morphine they were using at the hospital in my IV was not touching the pain, ! They started me on liquid Lortab and it was so much better and that is what the sent me home with. Also, ask for nausea meds to have at home, I needed it for 3 days. Also, the more you can get up and walk, the better. I have lost 15 lbs since my surgery! Good Luck !

Jen. I did have a drain, but they took it out at the hospital, thank god. I didn't want to have to deal with that too!
My doctors have me on percoset 2 tabs every 4 -6 hours. And as long as I stay on top of the 4 hours I'm doing ok. I have to say as well that actually being vertical and walking around is helping a ton. I took a 20 min walk this morning and it actually felt good. Although, I'm not sure how good it is that I'm out walking in public without a bra (and 40DD's!) oh well, a bra isn't really on the plan right right. Too much twisting and such.
In the hospital I was on deludad (making me very nauseous) and switching over to percoset has really helped. I also got a nasty migraine while in the hospital for surgery and treating that was nearly as bad as the pain from the actual surgery.
