As someone who is only a few weeks out and wanting to make sure that I'm completely informed, this is extremely helpful. Thank you so much for this post!

And you're aware that the Opurity multi only has 30 mg iron and the ASMBS says women need 36 mg iron if they no longer menstruate, 54-63 mg if they do menstruate?  And that four of the Opurity calcium only gives you 1200 mg calcium citrate and the ASMBS says we need 1500-2000 mg calcium citrate?

Per my PCP, I'm taking an additional iron supplement as stated above, since I was already anemic, pre-op.  Both docs think I'm ok on the calcium for now.

I think I'm as close to all-in-one as I can get but I'm willing to keep experimenting. The Alive! Max Potency with no added iron has only 100% of a few things (I'm thankful there's only 100% of copper, for instance) but they have several hundred % or even over 1000% of many other things, especially B vitamins. And it has some other stuff in it like spirulina blend, Omega blend, digestive enzymes.. which may or may not be helpful. But I haven't found another vitamin as potent as this one so they're part of the deal.

Then I take B12, Iron, Proferrin, Calcium, A, D and K separately. I have two pill organizers for it all and there's still not enough room for all the vitamin C and Iron so I just leave them in their bottles. The calcium, which is 9 capsules, has a monopoly. The iron I take when I go to bed and when I wake up, so they can just stay by the bed in their bottles.

I need to invent my own pill box.

Kelly, did not realize that the opurity calcium only have 1200 mg calcium in 4 pills. How much can we absorb at one time? Can we take 2 at a time. I bought feasol carbonyl iron yesterday to supplement what I am already taking. How are you supplementing vit A. Yesterday you were talking about it.
None of my meds have been stopped or decreased so between my meds and vitamins its like all I do is eat pills. (Now if I would only start losing weight)

We can absorb about 500 mg calcium at a time, so I would only take one of the Oppurity at a time, or maybe cut some in half and take 1.5 at a time.

I use the 25,000 IU vitamin A from vitalady.com.  I take it three times a week, which seems to be what I need to keep my level good.  I started taking it when I noticed my vitamin A level had dropped slightly below the normal range and now it's in the middle of the range.

I feel like all I do is eat pills, too.  At breakfast I take between seven and nine pills, including meds and vitamins, depending on which day it is (some pills I only take a few days a week).

At dinner I take eight pills.  At bedtime I take seven.  I have a few  other meds I take on an as-needed basis.

Hello!

I have not been on the site in a very long time. I used to take Vista Vitamins and bought a large amount. I ran out and was trying to find them again....can't seem to find them anywhere - anybody know about this?

I took a one a day prior to surgery, but now I am not allowed to start my vitamins untill 2/3 months post op, which @ that point I was instructed to take... and I'm not joking... FLINTSTONES chewables 2x's a day, along w/ my calcium supplement and I will also begin my B12 shots.

Why does your doc recommend waiting so long to start vitamins?  The ASMBS says we should start our multi and iron the day after discharge from the hospital, and start our calcium within one month.

Flintstones is missing several important vitamins and minerals so they are not suitable for us.  We need an adult multi with 100% of the RDA of stuff in it.
