Did anyone have a liver biopsy w/ RNY?
RNY on 09/10/12
Cirrhosis is disease in which healthy liver tissue is replaced with scar tissue, eventually preventing the liver from functioning properly. Fatty liver, as a result of obesity is one of the causes of this condition. As much as there isn't a cure for this, you can, however, stop the progression of the disease by losing the weight and making other changes in your life.
I certainly would not panic!! I have seen a hepatologist for elevated liver enzymes that started after I had my RNY and have had 2 liver biopsies without a clear indication as to why this has happened. As much as my levels are high, they are only marginally above normal. Wait until you see the specialist, but in the meantime DON'T PANIC
. You are on your way to much BETTER health!!
